528Hz at bedtime, honestly

The 528Hz tone, often called the "Love Frequency", is the most widely shared of the solfeggio tones. Here is what we use it for — and what we don't say about it.

528Hz at bedtime, honestly

You will find it said online that this tone repairs DNA. It does not, and we are not going to repeat it. What is true is more ordinary: a lot of people find it pleasant to fall asleep to, and a sound you like is a sound you will use again.

At Zensation Journey we've made 528Hz tracks that combine soft melodies and nature sounds, with nothing in them that asks for your attention. Whether you're meditating, practising yoga or getting ready for bed, their job is to stay in the background.

Numbers attached to feelings travel fast on the internet, and 528 Hz is the best-travelled of them all. We use it because people find it pleasant and because a named tone is easy to return to — not because a number can repair anything. Pleasant and repeatable is a real benefit; it is simply a smaller one than the internet claims.

Use it as a cue rather than a cure: put the tone on while you do the thing you actually want to keep — the three gratitude lines, the ten-second body check, the wind-down before bed. Foundations of Wellbeing (身心健康基礎) pairs sound with one small action for exactly this reason; the sound is the doorway, not the room.

If a tone does nothing for you, that is also a result. Taste in sound is as personal as taste in tea, and the practice matters more than the pitch — keep the ritual, change the track.

Tip: pick one track and stay with it. Familiarity does more work here than the number in the title.
